Former Patients

Our physicians would like you to return to MPRI for at least one follow up appointment. This gives you the opportunity to discuss any concerns that you may have post treatment. If there are any treatment-related side effects, our physicians can monitor progress and ensure that any issues are addressed. It also gives us the opportunity to prescribe further baseline tests to monitor your condition. If you so choose, our physicians can send monitoring recommendations to your local physician. Most of our patients enjoy returning to MPRI for follow up to see staff members and to reunite with friends in their home away from home.

Patient Surveys

Patient surveys are mailed to former patients from NRC Picker, an organization that surveys patients nationally on their healthcare experience. We ask all patients (or their caregivers) to participate in the survey. Information received will help us to better meet the needs of our patients.

Stay Connected

Many patients leave Bloomington with the desire to maintain contact with those they have met at MPRI. The opportunity to continue to share your experience, offer support and stay in touch with those you have met during your stay is available by contributing your story to our Website or by joining in the MPRI Online Community.

Most patients are excited to share their experience and be a resource for others who are seeking treatment. It is very common for patients to say they want everyone to know about proton therapy and specifically, MPRI and the treatment they received. Former patients are often the best advocates for MPRI. Here are a few ways that you can continue to support MPRI once you return home:

  • Let your hometown physicians know about your experience.
  • Offer to make a presentation about proton therapy at a local club or group.
  • Participate in support group meetings in your area to connect with others who have had or will be receiving treatment and share your story.
  • Talk to local newspapers, magazines, or publications to see if they will do a story about your experience.

We are happy to assist you in your efforts to help spread the word about MPRI in your community. Information packets are available upon request that will give you valuable information to share with those who want to learn more about MPRI and proton therapy. Former patients may obtain additional information packets via the MPRI patient concierge. New patients or referring physicians should contact us through our main number, 866.487.6774.

Make a Gift

Many patients are also inclined to give back to MPRI and to future patients by making a charitable contribution. MPRI is a nonprofit organization under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3), and your donation may be tax deductible, to the extent that the law allows.
