Facility Overview
MPRI is committed to providing compassionate, sensitive care for your patients in a state-of-the-art proton therapy facility meeting the highest standards of medical care. We are dedicated to taking on the most challenging cases, to serving patients who may not be able to be helped by other therapies, and to giving each patient a high level of personalized, one-on-one attention.

We provide two proton beam delivery methodologies: a fixed horizontal beam line or a 360-degree isocentric rotating gantry. The radiotherapy facility delivers fractionated proton irradiation at stereotactic precision with 1 mm accuracies in three dimensions.

The parameters prescribed for a particular patient are selected at the individual treatment room, allowing each room to operate independently. The engineering scheme is equivalent to having a therapy machine in each treatment room. In addition, MPRI has a full-service ambulatory clinic that supports the radiotherapy facility.

Because of the particular benefits that proton therapy offers pediatric patients, the MPRI clinic is specifically designed to be child-friendly. The clinic includes:

• A comfortable waiting area for adults and a separate pediatric waiting area
• Examination rooms
• A treatment planning area
• Immobilization device preparation areas
• A room for halo placement and ophthalmology procedures
• An anesthesia induction/recovery area
• Easy access to all staff members
